Plastic fantastic

01 April 2016

It is Metro's aim to have no paper Young Person's or Scholar's PhotoCards in circulation from September 15th, so if you regularly use public transport in West Yorkshire, make sure you have one of the new plastic, smart MCards. And with back-to-school time next week, this is particularly relevant for everyone in education, so they can make the most of the great savings on offer.

If you travel on buses within West Yorkshire and are in full-time education, our SchoolPlus travel ticket provides great savings. The SchoolPlus ticket can be bought either weekly or monthly and provides under 18s in full-time education with unlimited bus travel within West Yorkshire. This travel ticket must be loaded on to a smart plastic Young Person's or Scholar's PhotoCard, so if you haven't done so already, it's time to start applying.

If you are aged between 11 and 16 you will need a Young Person's PhotoCard, which you can apply forhere. If you are aged between 16 and 18 and in full-time education you can apply for a Scholar's PhotoCard at aBus Station Travel Centre.

To apply online for a Young Person's PhotoCard you will need a valid UK passport, a personal email address and a passport-quality digital photograph. To apply for a Scholar's PhotoCard you must visit a Bus Station Travel Centre in person - follow this link to find out what you need to bring with you when you apply.
