MCard Removal from Payzone Outlets

01 December 2023

From 1 January 2024 Payzone retail outlets will no longer sell MCard tickets.

The good news is there are still plenty of other ways to buy and benefit from the MCard ticket range.

The quickest and easiest way is through the MCard Mobile app. The MCard Mobile app allows you to buy and store mobile tickets on your Android or Apple smartphone. So you don’t actually need a smartcard anymore. Simply download it from Google Play or the Apple Store. Or visit m-card.co.uk for more information.

If you have a smartcard, you can still upload tickets to it at bus station MCard ticket machines or rail station ticket machines. Or pop into a bus station Travel Centre where they will do it for you.

The older MCard app (by Molten Mouse) allows you to top up a smartcard from an Android phone. Visit the Google Play Store to download this version. This feature is planned to become available on the MCard Mobile app, for both Android and Apple, in February 2024.

Using cash or contactless on the bus

If you are using cash or contactless on the bus, you can buy either the Adult DaySaver, which gives you unlimited travel on any bus in West Yorkshire for £4.50, or for Under 19s you can buy the young person’s equivalent of the DaySaver, the MyDay ticket for £2.50. The MyWeek ticket is now available to buy on the bus, which gives Under 19s unlimited weekly bus travel across West Yorkshire on any bus. Just ask the driver when you board.
