25 September 2023New Opera DaySaver bus ticket to support Opera North’s Green Season
Opera lovers are being encouraged to go green and travel by bus with a brand-new ticket on offer in West Yorkshire. MCard is launching its Opera DaySaver ticket this autumn to celebrate Opera North’s Green Season. Costing £4, it will cover unlimited bus use in West Yorkshire on any operators’ services from midday. Available on the MCard Mobile app, theatre-goers will be able to buy and use the QR-coded bus ticket to travel to all matinée and evening performances at the Leeds Grand Theatre from 28th September to 28th October.
Opera North's Green Season includes three operas: Verdi’s Falstaff, Puccini’s La rondine and a world premiere of a new piece created by Sir David Pountney called Masque of Might. From set designs to costume production, all three productions have been developed with sustainability aims at their core. Additionally, audiences are being encouraged to reduce their carbon footprint by travelling to performances on public transport.
Richard Armitage, Chair of MCard, commented, “Partnering with Opera North to encourage their audiences to travel into Leeds by bus is really exciting for MCard.
