Bargain bus and train travel for 5 adults for just £23

22 July 2019

MCard has launched a brand new Group DaySaver ticket which can be used by five people and costs only £23 for a day’s bus and train travel. The new ticket offers unlimited off-peak travel on any bus and train across West Yorkshire for just £4.60 per person, saving each person £4.10 if buying a ticket separately.

The new Group DaySaver can be purchased from train station ticket offices and Bus Station Travel Centres across West Yorkshire. The new ticket is being introduced as part of a relaunch of MCard’s day tickets to simplify the range for leisure travellers.

Richard Armitage, Chair of the West Yorkshire Ticketing Company that runs the multi-operator MCard Scheme said:

“These DaySaver tickets from MCard offer amazing value for money and provide a credible alternative to using Uber or your car.

“DaySavers can be used for multiple journeys, on any operator’s services to get to anywhere in West Yorkshire. They’re great for individuals or groups doing all sorts of activities over the weekend or indeed during the week. Great for special ‘meet-ups’ or spur-of-the-moment outings, perfect for friends going rambling, shopping, cinema, theatre or concerts, cricket or football matches, out for a meal or a drink”

“What’s more, the scratch-off DaySaver tickets, available from Bus Station Travel Centres, are ideal for those who like to plan in advance, but also like the freedom to rearrange their ‘dates’ without losing any money on their tickets.

Former MetroDay and West Yorkshire DayRovers, including the Family DayRover, which were available for bus, off-peak bus and train or train-only travel, have now been brought under the DaySaver banner. Prices remain unchanged and tickets are available from rail station ticket offices and Bus Station Travel Centres across West Yorkshire. The MetroDay, now called the DaySaver Bus, can still be bought on the bus for £6.50, or can be bought from just £5.00 when loading it to a Pink MCard.

People can find out more about DaySaver tickets online at m-card.co.uk/the-cards/day-tickets/, or follow @MCardtravel  on social media, along with plenty of ideas on how they can make the most of what West Yorkshire has to offer with a DaySaver ticket.
